ALI Marsland, has always been interested in language and communication and after studying linguistics at university and then teaching English in Africa, she worked in a series of communications roles. In 2006 she made the leap to self-employment and then over the past three years expanded the business. She now runs a limited company with a team of staff, called Effective English Company, all working remotely.

Ali has set the business up to run from anywhere. She is based in central UK but spends a couple of months each year in Cape Town and has also worked from Italy, Johannesburg and various UK locations.
